ICOMB Elects New Executive Committee

Winnipeg – An almost all-new executive committee will give leadership to the International Community of Mennonite Brethren for this next year. At its annual meeting, ICOMB representatives elected:

Rudi Plett, Paraguay German conference leader, to complete the Chair term to 2012, vacated by Ernesto Wiens of Brazil.

Yoshifumi Tanaka, Japan MB Conference leader, will be Vice Chair until 2013.

Ed Boschman, US MB Conference leader, repeats his term as Treasurer until 2013.

Heinrich Klassen, leader of the BTG conference of Germany is Secretary until 2012.

Outgoing vice chair, Damien Pelende of the Congo MB conference supported the new executive enthusiastically. Even though Africa is not represented in the new committee, 4 continents will be. Rudi Plett said, “My heart is strong toward ICOMB” as he considered the nomination for Chair.
